Old Textiles, More Possibilities
Welcome to the CTR online conference platform!
In 2020, the Centre for Textile Research celebrated its 15th anniversary. CTR was founded in 2005 as a Danish National Research Foundation Centre for Excellence with the mission to promote, expand and consolidate textile research in the academic world, focussing strongly on archaeology and history. Today, CTR is fully integrated within the Saxo Institute/UCPH, and its reach extends through its worldwide network of experienced researchers and young scholars in universities, museums, and design schools. We wish to welcome you all to this conference, to celebrate together the vivacity of today’s textile research! Together with the EuroWeb (COST Action), we wish to open a discussion on its future perspectives in Europe and beyond.
The conference blends scholarly pursuits with a variety of learning experiences: divided into 9 thematic sessions, activities will include keynote lectures, papers and videos on current research projects, panel discussions, and an online textile ’fair’. The focus is first and foremost on methodological approaches – exploring the diverse aspects of textile production and textile research – and transcend historical and geographical boundaries. We are very grateful to all the researchers who sent us abstracts so we can build such a far-reaching programme, and we wish you all a very interesting conference!
On this platform, you can access the programme of every session, the scientific programme of abstracts, the live lectures, thematic panels. You can also watch all the Short Poster Presentations, accessible at any time for each session. Save also some time to explore our Online Textile Fair, to discover an online exhibit and videos on textile crafts. https://eventsignup.ku.dk/ctrconference/conference
