Program Description:
This summer, exhibitions at the Nasher Sculpture Center and The Dallas Museum of Art are focused on textiles, so join us for this special day-long program in Dallas! We will begin with a tour of the new exhibition Sheila Hicks: Seize, Weave Space at the Nasher Sculpture Center, led by Assistant Curator Leigh Arnold. Featuring new and recent work by this American-born, Paris-based artist, this exhibition includes site-specific works throughout the museum and garden. We will explore the art in depth, and gain insights into the process of exhibition design and installation.
At the Dallas Museum of Art, we will join Senior Curator Roslyn Walker for a special tour of the textile storage rooms, featuring a behind-the-scenes look at some textile treasures in the DMA collection. The program will conclude with a docent-led tour of the exhibition Dior: From Paris to the World, where we will see an array of couture garments, photographs, original sketches, and runway videos that highlight the life and work of iconic fashion designer Christian Dior.
Lunch at a nearby restaurant is included in the registration cost.
