We are pleased to announce, “Sprang and Gauze Weave,” a two-day workshop from March 26–27, 2026 organized and hosted by The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum. Held at the museum’s Avenir Foundation Conservation and Collections Resource Center on March 26 and the Cotsen Textile Traces Study Center on March 27. Led by Carol James, world-renowned expert on sprang, Karthika Audinet, academic coordinator of the Cotsen Textile Traces Study Collection, and Sumru Belger Krody, chief curator and Avenir Foundation Curator, the workshop will address professional concerns of museum curators and academic scholars from all levels of experience, including those currently undertaking graduate study.
