The central theme: “Textiles as Historical Sources”. Focus will be on approaches to the understanding textiles in historical context from the perspective of economic and technological development, trade links, diplomatic and political relations, social structure, textile production and manufacturing, mythology, cosmology and decorative arts in the territories of the Silk Road (including the Eastern Silk Road, the Steppe Silk Road, and the Maritime Silk Road).
