The Box Project: Uncommon Threads features the dynamic results of how artists respond differently to the same commission. For The Box Project, collector Lloyd Cotsen challenged thirty-six acclaimed international artists to create a three-dimensional work to fit inside a standard box. The exhibition showcases a diverse collection of works that reflect the artists’ creative and ingenious use of fiber to create new works of art. Each artist interpreted the challenge in his or her own way, many pushing the boundaries of fiber. The Box Project: Uncommon Threads is on view through January 29, 2018 at the George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum.
