Wed May 1st – Sat Aug 17th (EDT)
Weaving Spinning Felting Exhibit, Kansas, Missouri
Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66212
Founded in 1954, the Weavers Guild of Greater Kansas City 70th Anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate as we preserve and perpetuate our various textile art and handwork traditions. We will exhibit members’ fiber art at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center from May through August.
Since its founding in 1954, the Guild has worked to further the art and craft of hand weaving and fiber arts. This milestone marks a momentous journey of growth and success. In celebration of this significant milestone, the Guild has planned a series of commemorative events, special promotions, and community initiatives as a way to give back to the community that has supported its growth. The anniversary celebrations will also provide an opportunity to reflect on the Guild’s journey, acknowledge the contributions of its members and volunteers, and strengthen its partnerships with artists and the community.
