Do you want to be a professional artist but don’t know how to jump in? Getting a grip on the business of art will help pave the way to a successful career. This course will provide awareness, knowledge, and tools for practical application and will prepare you for issues that may come up as you develop your practice. Ideal for artists at any stage of their careers, we will discuss approaching a gallery, contracts, copyright, taxes, insurance, self-promotion, websites and social media, press releases, artist resume, pricing, documenting your work, and grants. This workshop will be recorded and shared with registered participants.
This class will be conducted live on Zoom. Participants will receive an email from Peters Valley at least 48 hours prior that includes a link and a password. Only registered participants will be admitted.

1. Remember that any audio/video communication may involve two-way camera and audio usage. This means that the instructor will need to see participants’ work and speak with them about it and may also be able to see and hear what is occurring in their home.

3. Do not provide access to the lesson to anyone other than the registered participant.
4. Maintain the confidentiality of other students if you are participating in a group lesson. All individuals participating may be able to see and hear what is occurring in your home.
