Printed and Stitched Exhibition
Public Opening Reception | Thursday, May 2nd 6pm to 7pm
Exhibition on view until September 1, 2024
Printed & Stitched presents works from members of the California Society of Printmakers and Studio Art Quilt Associates that celebrate the techniques of quilting and hand-pulled printing. Throughout history, textile and print have been a common pair with textile artists incorporating printed elements into their work and printmakers referencing stitching.
Though these techniques and media may seem different on the surface, there is common ground in woven layers, color, texture, and methods of storytelling. Juried by award-winning artist, Christine S. Aaron, this exhibition features 58 works by artists from California and Nevada that explore the connection between printing and stitching.
