In the afternoon of Wednesday, June 5, from 2-5 PM Mountain Time, esteemed weaver Lynda Teller Pete and textile conservator Kathleen Martin will work on and discuss rejoining a Diné woman’s Biil Éé (dress) in an area of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science open to the public.
In the evening, from 7-9 PM Mountain Time, Lynda Teller Pete will give a presentation “The Beauty of a Diné Weaver’s Prayer”. The lecture will be a ticketed event.
Esteemed Diné weaver Lynda Teller Pete, alongside Avenir Center Textile Conservator Kathleen Martin, have been working to rejoin the front and back panels of a traditional Diné woman’s Biil Ééʼ (dress). Non-native dealers often separated these garments to sell pieces of them individually.
