Tipu Sultan’s Kashmir Shawl and Other Shawl Curiosities, Joan Hart
My collection of Kashmir and paisley shawls contains at least one shawl with a fairly firm provenance to Tipu Sultan (1750-1799). Kashmir shawl production took on many forms throughout its several hundred years history, and we can take a peek at a few high points.
