ANNUAL GIVING MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY
The Annual Giving Manager has primary responsibility for achieving the goals of the Annual Fund/Friends of Arrowmont by growing the donor base, upgrading FOA member support, and strengthening relationships with current donors below the major donor level. Position responsibilities include management, development, and implementation of plans for achieving the goals of the annual fund. This includes, but is not limited to: development of schedule for annual fund campaigns and appeals, annual fund marketing materials development, donor stewardship and recognition, and production of the annual report. The annual giving manager works across departmental lines to assure that annual fund goals are met and that all development materials and work meets the highest possible standards. The annual fund manager supervises the annual giving coordinator. The annual fund manager works closely with the COIA in all areas of fundraising to ensure quality and achievement of goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Annual Appeals
- In consultation with COIA set and achieve financial goals for annual giving.
- Develop and manage at least two annual fund campaigns per year (spring and year-end).
- In collaboration with the Associate Director-Marketing and Communications develop annual appeal materials that utilize a variety of media (direct mail, e-blast, social media,) consistent with Arrowmont’s brand and messaging.
- Working with the annual giving coordinator to create effective gift acknowledgement and recognition systems.
- Supervises the annual giving coordinator including ensuring that the database functions effectively.
- Provide COIA with regular reports on annual fund progress.
Database
- Oversees and ensures the maintenance and growth of the database.
- Work with annual giving coordinator to ensure that database records are accurate including donor and prospect coding.
- Work with annual giving coordinator and accounting staff to reconcile monthly reports, develop custom reports, and respond to requests for database information.
- Works with ADMC and annual giving coordinator to grow the prospect database by data-mining, capturing names at conferences, and other appropriate vehicles.
Donor/Major Donor Development
- Working with COIA, develop and implement moves management plan to identify, qualify, cultivate, and steward a pool of 100 prospects from basic contributors to Renaissance Circle (major gift) status.
- Develop plan, implement, and manage semi-annual Thank-a-Thon utilizing the services of senior management, volunteers, and Board of Governors members.
- Track donor performance and cultivation from initial identification through ask and life of donor.
- Work with the COIA to determine solicitation strategies for increased giving opportunities.
- Work with IA team to ensure appropriate gift acknowledgement, donor recognition, and stewardship.
- Manage annual fund and Friends of Arrowmont programs including annual appeals.
- Work with COIA to develop and implement monthly giving program.
- Work with COIA to develop and implement strong donor recognition program
Events
- Manage logistics of all events including development and implementation of event plan, marketing, correspondence, maintenance, list development, and on-site management.
- Serve as lead member of the planning team for major events including Starry Night, Meet the Artists, Golf Tournament, and one-off events such as the 75th Anniversary Celebration.
- Working with the COIA plan, implement, and attend donor stewardship and recognition events such as receptions for Friends of Arrowmont, Renaissance Circle annual dinner, gallery openings, and other events not yet defined.
Materials Development
- Works with ADMC to develop annual fund materials, update the giving pages of the website, establish crowdfunding campaigns, and encourage online giving.
- Working with ADMC develops, produces, and disseminates the annual report.
Other Duties
Supports Chief Officer for Institutional Advancement as needed. Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred in management, nonprofit management, business, or related discipline with preferably five-years’ experience in an arts or nonprofit organization.
Salary: $55,000 annually with excellent benefits.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires limited travel, ability to drive a car, is physically demanding requiring the ability to walk unaided up and down hills and over uneven terrain; bend, stoop, reach above head; fine and gross motor skills, and work in close quarters. The employee must have normal visual acuity at near and far distance with correction and hear spoken word with correction. Must be fluent in English. While performing the duties of this position, employee is required sit and work at a computer. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, touch objects, tools or controls and to talk fluently. The employee must occasionally lift or move heavy objects.
