The 16th International Textile and Fibre Art Biennial “Scythia” will be held 3-17 June, 2026, Ivano-Frankivs’k, Ukraine. Deadline for entries is the 1st of February, 2026. Artists and designers from all over the world are invited to take part. Artists who work in different techniques of textile and fibre art can submit 1-2 works, 2 or 3-dimensional. Size for 2D works – width up to 2 meters, height up to 3 meters. Size for 3D works – up to 2x2x2 meters. For exhibition fashion designers can submit three garments. Three best artworks will be awarded with medals.
Next year it will be the 30 year’s anniversary, as the first “Scythia” Biennial took place in 1996. We are grateful to all artists who have participated in the events for the last 30 years, for making these exhibitions incredible and in general possible! We invite artists to join the very special 16th edition of “Scythia” Biennial, to share their art and celebrate with us 30 years of dedicated and hard work to promote textile and fibre art.
There is no theme for the exhibition. There were never given any themes for any of the “Scythia” events, as we believe that artists are people who like freedom and their imagination is developed by different social, natural, historical, cultural and other aspects. It is always interesting to see what excites, interests and provokes artists to create a new work. The organizers from their side try to create a story of what is important to the people nowadays via the exposition, so the visitors can read it from the artworks.
The founders and organisers – Ludmila Egorova, Anastasia Schneider and Andrew Schneider
