Call for Artwork for 2019 show: “Crafting Democracy: Fiber Arts & Activism” in Rochester, New York
Submission are now open for an exhibit to premiere at the historic central branch of the Rochester [New York] Public Library in summer 2019.
The title of the show, Crafting Democracy: Fiber Arts & Activism, explores the Suffragist and Abolitionist legacies today in the U.S. Artists from any country are invited to submit photos of their works by the June 1, 2018 deadline. Decisions will be announced in August. TSA member Dr. Hinda Mandell is a co-curator, along with Dr. Juilee Decker, Museum Studies, at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.
The exhibit seeks to demonstrate the ways in which craft is employed as a tool of expression that gives voice to people who seek an active role in democracy. For more information, and to submit by June 1, 2018, please visit craftingdemocracy.com
