This focus issue of the Clothing & Textiles Research Journal calls on fashion and textile scholars to propose and discuss diverse solutions that can initiate positive and radical changes for a better future for the fashion and textile industries and student education, beyond incremental improvements.
Where and how should we, as fashion and textile researchers and educators, navigate through this challenging time to initiate positive changes to build healthy, sustainable industries and communities?
Possible topics include the following:
– Ethical and legal considerations for healthy growth of the fashion/textile industry
– Challenges and opportunities in the use of technology in the fashion/textile industry
– New paradigms in fashion/textile manufacturing and retailing
– Reducing carbon footprints
– Decolonizing of the fashion business for equity
Submission types: The magazine welcomes a range of scholarly manuscripts, including but not limited to: research, conceptual, teaching and design.
Notes for Authors: Focus issue submissions are double-blind review and follow CTRJ procedures. Author revision time is shorter for Focus Issue submissions. Major revisions are 3 months, minor revisions 1 month, and accept with edits is 2 weeks. Manuscripts are published online upon acceptance prior to their inclusion in the journal focus issue.
