A juried exhibition celebrating the media of knitting and crochet produced by the Artisans of Knit and Crochet.

As a knit and/or crochet artisan you are invited to submit your work for a juried exhibition during the 2018 Pittsburgh Creative Arts and Knit and Crochet Festival.
The art of knit and crochet involves creativity, process development and artistic awareness. Awards will be given for different techniques of knit and crochet media.
JURORS
The Jurors are featured artists from the Creative Arts /Knit and Crochet Festival 2018
SUBMISSION FEE
$25 for up to 3 entries. (Make check payable to Fiber Forward Pittsburgh.)
REQUIREMENTS
• Any fiber artist working in the medium of knit and/or crochet is welcome to enter.
• At least 75% of the piece must be executed using knit and or crochet techniques.
• Wearable art, 2 and/or 3-dimensional work may be submitted.
• Work submitted must be innovative and original in design.
• Collaborative works will be considered as a single entry. Artists submitting both collaborative and individual works must apply separately.
• Entries must be ready to securely hang or install.
• Work must have been completed in last 2 years.
• Works may be offered for sale.
• All work submitted online must be available for the entire duration of the jurying process and exhibition.
• Jurying will be by photo. See image submission section for requirements.
• The delivery and pickup of the art works are the sole responsibility of the artists. If they are to be shipped, arrangements must be made with the Artisans of Knit and Crochet for receiving, unpacking and return shipping. Artist is responsible for all shipping fees.
• Artisans of Knit and Crochet reserve the right to refuse works that are not properly prepared to hang safely, works that differ from entry image, or any other reason including damage in shipping that would hinder coherence of the exhibit. If the final work submitted is damaged in shipping or hand delivery, artist will be contacted immediately by Artisans of Knit and Crochet.
• All due care will be taken with works of art, but neither Artisans of Knit and Crochet nor the Pittsburgh Creative Arts Festival can be responsible for loss or damage to the works of art. Artists are encouraged to insure their works.
IMAGE SUBMISSION
• All entries must be digital. Please provide professional quality photos. Images may be used for exhibit promotion.
• Each entry should be represented by clearly focused, well-lit images on a neutral background that accurately reflects the work submitted. Color must be true to the piece.
• Up to two images may accompany each submission, a full view and a detail.
• Digital images must be in jpg format no larger than 1800 pixels on the longest side. (6” wide at 300 dpi) Total size of JPG file must be under 1.8 MB per image.
• Filename for each JPG must be as follows: artist’s last name and first initial, entry number (1, 2 or 3), key word(s) from title (1 or 2 words ONLY), and view (full or detail) for each image.
For example: smith_m_1_seascape_full.jpg smith_m_1_seascape_detail.jpg

SALES
All works may be offered for sale and sales will be encouraged. Artist will receive 70% of all sold work.

CALENDAR

Show ends April 8. Pick up of all unsold works between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. April 8, unless arrangements have been made with the Artisans of Knit and Crochet.

There will be a $25 per day fee for the handling and storage of works that are not picked up on time.

If not picked up by April 10, works become property of the Artisans of Knit and Crochet.
