General Summary:
The University of North Georgia, Dahlonega campus, is currently searching for a Lecturer – Studio Art to teach Textile/Fiber Arts courses, as well as foundation courses (Drawing I, 2D/Color, 3D Design, and Art Appreciation) as needed. We are looking for a colleague who actively seeks opportunities to develop and shape the future of our thriving textile arts program, while continuing to embrace the strong history of craft and art in our department and region. The UNG MakerBot Innovation Center provides access to and potential to teach using 3D printers and scanners, laser cutters, as well as AR/VR technologies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- The Lecturer will be responsible for textile courses (beginning, intermediate, and upper level) including but not limited to surface design, textile construction, and weaving, with the ability to develop special topics courses desirable.
- The Lecturer will also conduct ongoing professional research and creative activities; be responsible for student advising; and Departmental/University committee work as required. Studio course load 4/4.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- The ideal candidate will be skilled in weaving and textile design and at least two of the following areas: all drawing and painting media, printmaking, sculpture, digital photography.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
- MFA in appropriate studio area.
- Evidence of a minimum of two years successful teaching experience at the college or university level, and demonstrated commitment to working effectively with a diverse student population are required.
