The Textile Museum Journal, a double-blind peer-reviewed annual journal published by the George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum, is seeking article proposals for the 2020 volume to be devoted to new research on “Color.” The volume, guest edited by Mary Dusenbury, research curator at Spencer Museum of Art, will be interdisciplinary. We encourage submissions examining any aspect of color in textiles from all historic (pre-historic) periods and geographic regions.
The Textile Museum Journal now appears in digital version. The digital format allows full color and the incorporation of other media, such as video and sound. We encourage authors to consider incorporating those formats to their articles. Articles for the journal typically range in length from 5,000 to 10,000 words with no limit on the number of illustrations. The print copy is available on demand to subscribers.
Article proposals (250-300 words), a few samples of the visual material to be included, and a brief author biography (100-words) for the Color volume are due April 1, 2019, with full articles due on July 31, 2019, with final acceptance subject to double blind peer review. For submissions, please review https://museum.gwu.edu/submit-research or more information or questions please contact The Textile Museum Journal editorial team at tmjournal@gwu.edu or check https://museum.gwu.edu/tmjournal.
