This page provides registration rates, information, and a form for the 2024 TSA Symposium, “Shifts and Strands: Rethinking Possibilities and Potentials of Textiles.” Registration is only open to presenters now. Registration for all participants will open August 1, 2024.

Benefits of Registering:
– Flexible Access: Registered participants can access all Symposium programs anytime during the event and for 90 days afterward. Only registered participants have this privilege, as programs will not be publicly posted.
– Connect with Others: Participants can use the app’s social networking features to interact with others, join discussion threads, and respond to programs. They can also connect individually or in groups.
Registration Fees:
Registration fees help cover the costs of the Symposium platforms, administrative expenses, Zoom licenses, and other related costs. TSA is mostly run by volunteers, with two part-time staff, and many Symposium tasks are handled by volunteer Board members and TSA members.
TSA aims to make the Symposium affordable. Registration fees are much lower than in 2018. Early registration was $350, and regular registration was $450, with no reduced rate. Now, TSA offers a sliding scale for symposium registration and membership fees and can provide more awards and fee waivers than ever before. The 2024 Symposium is being held virtually to eliminate travel and accommodation costs.

TSA Member Rates
- TSA member, early registration (before October 15th, 2024): $250
- TSA member, regular registration (after October 15th, 2024): $275
- TSA member, reduced rate: $100
- TSA member, sustainer (register for yourself, and donate the cost of an additional registration): $250 fee + $250 donation = $500
- TSA member, sustainer (register for yourself, and donate the cost of an additional reduced registration): $250 fee + $100 donation = $350
Non-member Rates
- non-TSA member: $400

TSA is committed to ensuring our symposium is as accessible and inclusive as possible, in line with our commitment to anti-racism and building a culture of care. The symposium will be held on a third-party platform called Whova. Although we do not have control over the Whova platform itself and its inherent limitations, we are working to implement our content and sessions in the most accessible way possible.
