International Fiber Arts Xl is a juried exhibition presenting a distinct approach to innovative and traditional fiber techniques, and contemporary concepts for the use of traditional and unusual materials. The in-gallery show is July 29-Sept 10, 2023 at Sebastopol Center for the Arts in Northern California and is co-sponsored by Surface Design Association.
Call for Entry is open now and the Deadline for submissions is June 20. Accepting both two or three-dimensional pieces including wearable and installation art.
Awards: 1st place $500, 2nd place $300, 3rd place $100 and two juror merit awards.
Jurors: Judith Content has been a practicing studio artist for more than 40 years. Her shibori-dyed art quilts have been by collections and exhibited internationally with recent solo exhibitions at the Visions Museum of Textile Art, San Diego, CA and San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles. Ann Johnston‘s art quilts — made with her hand-dyed fabrics and freehand stitching—are shown in exhibitions worldwide. Her books, workshops, and lectures about dyeing and designing have been resources for fiber artists for many years.
