For this special TSA News Conversation, member Dr. Jonathan M. Square had the honor and pleasure to chat with Letitia Huckaby, an artist who draws inspiration from textile histories in her family and the larger African American experience. Though she grew up as an “army brat” in Germany, Huckaby has deep familial connections to Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas (where she and her family currently reside). She spent much of her youth as a ballerina, trained as a photographer in college, and now is a mixed-media artist who explores the resilience of African American women, particularly in her own family. Tune in and learn more about her training, practice, and inspirations.
