The Textile Society of America (TSA) is pleased to announce that Dr. Helen Trejo has been selected as the Proceedings Editor for the 2024 Symposium. Helen brings extensive editorial and publishing experience to the role, along with a deep understanding of TSA’s mission and programming.
Helen has been an active member of TSA since 2014, participating as a presenter at multiple symposia and contributing to previous editions of the Proceedings. At the 2024 Symposium, she was not only a presenter but also a dedicated volunteer, further demonstrating her commitment to TSA’s community. Her strong application, combined with her expertise in academic publishing and her familiarity with TSA’s work, made her an outstanding choice for this position.
As Proceedings Editor, Helen will oversee the online publication of the 2024 Symposium Proceedings, ensuring that the research and discussions from the Symposium are accessible to a global audience. The Proceedings include papers, panel transcripts, and other scholarly contributions, published as open-access documents through TSA’s partnership with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Digital Commons. To date, TSA’s Proceedings have reached an international readership with over 1.7 million downloads.
In this role, Helen will work closely with authors, providing editorial guidance and ensuring that all submissions align with TSA’s publication standards. She will also liaise with the Digital Commons team to facilitate the timely release of the Proceedings, continuing TSA’s tradition of fostering scholarly exchange in the field of textiles.
TSA is excited to welcome Dr. Helen Trejo into this role and looks forward to her contributions in preserving and sharing the knowledge presented at the 2024 Symposium. The Proceedings Guidelines for Submission will be available on the TSA website at the end of March 2025. To explore past Proceedings, visit: TSA Proceedings or Digital Commons.
