The Textile Society of America mourns the passing of our member, Nancy F. Hall, who died on December 21, 2024. She was 77. While Nancy was celebrated as a foundational leader in nonprofit finance, we within TSA remember her as a devoted member of our textile community, whose keen intellect and creative spirit enriched our shared pursuits.
A trailblazer from the start, Nancy was among the first generation of women to graduate from Harvard Business School. She translated her formidable financial skill into a powerful force for good. She co-founded the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations and served as a mentor and professor at Johns Hopkins University for over two decades, teaching a generation about integrity and management.
Beyond her professional legacy, Nancy was a maker at heart. She found deep fulfillment in the textile arts through quilting, crochet, and knitting. This love for handwork reflected the same meticulous care and constructive patience she brought to building institutions and mentoring countless professionals. We extend our condolences to her family, her vast network of colleagues, students, and friends.
