The Textile Society of America (TSA) invites applications for the contract position of Proceedings Editor to support the publication of Material Memory, Futures, and Renewal: Proceedings of the Textile Society of America Colloquia, 2022–2026. This peer-reviewed, open-access publication will document scholarship, artistic practice, and critical conversations emerging from TSA’s colloquia and will be published through the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Digital Commons.

Position Overview
The Proceedings Editor will oversee the editorial process from submission through final production. Working closely with TSA staff, peer reviewers, the copy editor, and publication designer, the editor will help ensure the scholarly quality, accessibility, and cohesion of the final publication.
All colloquium presentations are eligible for publication, including scholarly papers, artist presentations, and selected panel discussions.
Honorarium: $3,000 USD
Estimated Time Commitment: 100–180 hours

Responsibilities
- Oversee the submission, peer review, and editorial process
- Develop and distribute submission and formatting guidelines
- Recruit and coordinate peer reviewers
- Manage communications with contributors throughout the review and revision process
- Collaborate with TSA staff, the copy editor, and publication designer
- Ensure consistency across essays, transcripts, captions, citations, and supporting materials
- Support preparation of final publication files for Digital Commons
- Maintain editorial timelines and production schedules
Qualifications
- An active TSA membership throughout duration of contract is required
- Editorial experience with academic, arts, or cultural publications
- Familiarity with scholarly publishing and peer-review processes
- Knowledge of textile studies, fiber art, material culture, or related fields
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple contributors and deadlines
- Familiarity with TSA’s mission and programs preferred
