Dear Members,
It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce you to the newest member of the TSA staff. Lauren Hartman joined TSA in June in as Membership Associate. This is a newly created part-time position to provide dedicated support to you, our members. Lauren brings to TSA a love of textiles and experience working in nonprofit, museum, and education settings.
Lauren is an artist, educator, curator, and community organizer living and working in the California’s San Francisco Bay Area. Before joining TSA she organized community events and led volunteers at Dolores Park Works, a San Francisco non-profit. At Arion Press, she was responsible for hand sewing one-of-a-kind artisan books, she also continues to teach sewing to children and adults. For over a decade Lauren has been working professionally in fine arts and maintains a rigorous studio-based practice. Lauren works primarily in embroidery and makes inlaid mother of pearl paintings. She received an MFA in Painting from San Francisco Art Institute in 2010 and a BFA in Printmaking from Columbus College of Art and Design.
Lauren can be reached at lauren@textilesociety.org and through the contact us page on our website. Please join me in welcoming Lauren to the organization.
Warmly,
Tali Weinberg
