Dorothy Waxman, member of Textile Society of America and resident of New York City, invites members to attend Talking Textiles Seminar, Tuesday, November 17, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, as honored invited guests. Tickets to this even are available to the public for $150 per person.
The seminar will be held at Tishman Auditorium, 63 5th Avenue, New York, NY and features a roster of international speakers discussing “trends, fabrics, yarns & techniques for the coming seasons,” including the opening talk titled “The Emancipation of Textiles” by Lidewij Edelkoort, Trend Forecaster, Trend Union & Dean of Hybrid Studies, Parsons The New School. Five talks exploring international, sustainable developments in handwovens for fashion will follow.
Philip Fimmano, Director, Edelkoort Inc. will announce the call for entries for the 2016 Dorothy Waxman Textile Prize.
