The TSA Glossary Project is a new initiative aimed at creating a digital platform for investigating and sharing the language of textiles. In line with TSA’s commitment to ongoing equity and anti-racism work, this project seeks to create a glossary that
1) builds on past work involving the creation of decolonized language resources;
2) interrogates the intertwined histories and present realities of textiles, racism, and colonialism; and
3) creates and shares stories that question and expand the canon of textile terms.
We are still in the beginning stages of this project, and we are seeking members who are interested in joining this volunteer team to help shape what it will look like and eventually enact this initiative.
The application window has been closed as of August 17, 2023.
