The Textile Society of America invites members to participate in the nomination process for the 2026 Brandford/Elliott Award for Excellence in Fiber Art (B/EA) by recommending a Nominator, an individual who will help shape the next cycle of this important recognition for emerging fiber artists. Read more about the Brandford/Elliott Award for Excellence in Fiber Art.
Each award cycle, the B/EA Selection Committee appoints three anonymous nominators who each identify three candidates, for a total of nine nominees. Nominators are selected to reflect a diversity of experience, geography, and perspective across the field of contemporary fiber art, ensuring a broad and evolving representation of artistic voices.
In 2026, one of these three nominators will be chosen through an open call to TSA members. The remaining two will be appointed directly by the Selection Committee.
Who Can Be Nominated as a Nominator
Ideal nominators are professionals active in the field of fiber art, such as museum curators or directors, educators, independent artists, critics, or editors of textile publications. They should demonstrate a deep engagement with contemporary fiber practices and an awareness of emerging talent in the field.
