Dear Members,
There have been a couple of changes to the standing Board of Directors which I would like to share with you. At our March meeting, the Board agreed to establish a new position of International Advisor to the Board. We also agreed to appoint Dominique Cardon to that position. As a very active and truly global scholar, Dr. Cardon is very well-positioned to serve as TSA’s ambassador abroad and to strengthen our ties to other textile organizations and communities around the world. For the past two years as a member of the Board she has made enormous contributions in that regard, and for which we are deeply appreciative.
Laura Camerlengo has been appointed to serve the remainder of Dominique’s term as Director at Large. Laura has been the very dedicated editor of our Facebook page for the past two years, and I think you’ll agree that it has become an invaluable resource for finding out what’s happening in the textile world. Laura is an Exhibitions Assistant with the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Costume and Textiles department. She has a Masters degree in the History of Decorative Arts and Design from Parsons, the New School for Design/Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.
Please welcome Dominique and Laura in their new roles!
