Drawing on the theme Hidden Stories/Human Lives, TSA will sponsor a member’s juried exhibition that reflects the Symposium mission of inclusion and diversity. The exhibition will be held at Massachusetts College of Art from October 14-18, 2020, and will be part of the Symposium opening evening reception.
One roundtable of exhibition participants, selected by the jury, will be formed to discuss the process and works in the exhibition.
Eligibility: The applications process is open to those whose practice draws on textile materials, techniques, or knowledge, widely defined. Applicants must be TSA members, but anyone is welcome to join TSA at the time of application. You can join through the TSA website at https://textilesocietyofamerica.org/join. Selected artists are invited but not required to attend the full symposium.
All art submitted must be under 20”x30”, ready to hang, and professionally finished. All artwork must be display ready with display hardware included.
Media: The exhibition is open those whose practice draws on textile materials, techniques, or knowledge, widely defined. This includes, but is not limited to, 2D and 3D contemporary art, and unique functional pieces such as garments, rugs, coverlets, etc. Digital work will not be accepted.
Jury and Entry Procedures: All entries will be judged from digital images. Each artist may enter up to three artworks. Submissions will only be accepted via our online submission form. No applications will be accepted via email. Each artist may enter up to three artworks. Each artwork may be represented by up to two images.

Submission Fee: $10. This submission fee will offset the costs of gallery rental and exhibition setup.
Accepted artists will be notified by June 1st, 2020.
Delivery and Return of Artwork: Entries may be shipped or hand-delivered to MassArt to arrive between October 8th and October 12th, 2020. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and in-transit insurance to and from MassArt and any customs related fees. Shipped Artwork must be sent prepaid in substantial, reusable containers. Instructions and payment for return shipping, and a self-addressed shipping label should accompany the delivered artwork. (Prepaid UPS or FedEx label for return shipping is preferred.) Accepted artists will receive additional information concerning shipping and delivery instructions.
Textile Society of America will retain submitted images of accepted entries as part of its permanent archive, and requests permission to reproduce accepted works for publicity purposes. Artists/designers will be expected to sign an image permission form granting TSA permission to reproduce the work.
Please prepare the following for submission:
Up to three works of art, one or two images per piece. Images should be .jpgs, 1200 px in the widest dimension.

Artist statement (300 words or less)
